WHT Ghana

In sub-Saharan Africa one of the major issues is the lack of affordable machinery for small scale farmers to produce more food – and where more food is produced, storage is a problem.

WHT Foundation is committed to making available the simplest most affordable technology for the small-scale farmer. One of such projects is the successful introduction of the single row-no till Morrison Seeder which drops seeds as well as fertilizer and then covers it all in a single pass.

This is currently being modified to accommodate a variety of seed sizes and different seed spacing for which we already have a manufacturer ready to produce.

We are also working on an affordable solar powered cold storage made from used shipping units to maintain the quality and slow the deterioration of fruits and vegetables consequently increasing the income of farmers.
